Senior Project, Blog Post 3: Report on Progress
I had my second recording session on Monday, 2/2 , with Dr. Blake on the topic “Opera as Storytelling- Why these Stories still Matter.” For this I had to create another outline for the recording session, along with set-up and tear-down of the studio.
Attached below is the outline for this past recording.
Next week I will finish up my last few interviews. Due to the lack of time, I only will have time to interview for four total podcasts.
Here are the outlines for the two additional interviews conducted for next week. These were directly created by ChatGPT, because I noticed that I don’t entirely use the outlines for anything other than some ideas to start the conversation. In addition, many of the faculty have wanted an outline just so they get an idea of what we will be talking about, but similarly we don’t stay on the exact topics listed.
I will be interviewing Dr. Regensburger for the topic, “How Music Tells the Story,” because she teaches our Song Literature class, which actually covers a lot of these questions (the analysis of the piano/ music/ notes and how that furthers the story, not just the words itself.)
In addition, I will interview Professor Melcher on the topic “Behind the Curtain: How an Opera is Made,” due to the fact she has performed for many opera companies and also has been in charge of the Opera/ Musical Theater department at Capital University, so not only has she performed opera, but with this role she has also had to go through the audition process from the other side, direct, stage, conduct, and more for our program.
